2015-2016
- The Don Henderson Memorial Ringette Scholarship was awarded to Haley Young for the 2015/16 Academic year
- There were 100 teams registered with Ringette Calgary.
A total of 137 teams participated in Zone 123 League Play.
In addition there were 26 teams registered with the Calgary Open Ringette Association (CORA). - Ringette Calgary announced the “2015 Western Canadian Ringette Championships Legacy Scholarship” which will be awarded at the Ringette Calgary Annual General Meeting every May.
The "2015 Western Canadian Ringette Championships Legacy Scholarships" were awarded to Tori George and Kelsey Logan for the 2015/16 Academic year. - Pat Yelle was the recipient of the 2016 Calgary AA Ringette Service Award

Ringette Community Loss
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Rick Hann, a valued member of our Ringette community. Rick passed away July 17, 2016 following a short battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life was held August 6th, at the Triwood Community Center at which time a memorial bench was dedicated in his name.
Rick became an official in 2002 and was an active member of our Referee Association helping with many functions including liaison to Ringette Calgary, sitting on the disciplinary committee, recruiting officials, instructing clinics, evaluating our younger officials, supervising at provincials and the biggest one being, on the ice as an official.
This is truly a great loss to our membership and to our community as a whole. Rick will be profoundly missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Nevertheless, by his own last wishes, let us remember Rick each time, with a smile upon our faces.
National Coaches Week
Several Calgary coaches were in the spotlight for The Coaching Association of Canada and the provincial and territorial coaching partners inaugural National Coaches Week, September 19 – 27, 2015.
Congratulations to Jodi Gach, Kirsten Devonshire and Paul Geddes who were nominated.
National Coaches Week is a week to celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities across Canada. This week was an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by simply saying #ThanksCoach.
With events held across the country to celebrate coaching, National Coaches Week provided coaches with the recognition they deserve for the time they devote to ensuring Canadians live an active, healthy lifestyle.
Roundup/Rodeo
A new program was launched that provides children an equal opportunity to keep active, learn teamwork, participate in something new and to enjoy better quality equipment for the safety of all participants. The idea was to start passing equipment from one player to another to help more people enjoy Ringette. Check out the newspaper article about this program
On August 21st an event was held where equipment was dropped off and then redistributed to those who could use it. The day was a big hit. Families arrived to be outfitted, some sobbing… as without the donated gear, families were stretched and their girls might not have been able to play.
Every Single Girl who arrived at the event was FULLY outfitted.
Global NEWS also showed up and did a piece on the 6pm and 11pm news
